Cola Pen Lettering

What’s a cola pen? It’s a tool for handlettering, made out of a drink can. This craft-based workshop shows you how to make a simple ruling pen from a drink can and then use it to create expressive lettering. Your tutor will discuss some of the lettering effects possible and show a variety of examples, and demonstrate using his own cola pens. Then you will be shown step-by-step how to make your own, experimenting with different kinds of metals and nib shapes, before using it to create your own lettering. Participants should wear an apron or dark clothes, and come prepared to get messy.
